Hot Modulus of Rupture Equipment ( 3 Point Bending ) upto 1550°C

GENERAL FEATURES & DESCRIPTION :

  • The TESTER is designed and manufactured on the guidelines of IS: 1528 (Part 20)-1993, ISO 5013-1985, ASTM – 583 and DIN – 51048,for determination of Three-Point Bending Strength
    The specially designed batch type Furnace is heated by Silicon Carbide Heating Elements (for 1450 °C ) or MoSi2 Heating Elements (for 1550 °C) mounted Vertically on two sides of the heating chamber Low thermal mass Refractory Fiber Insulation backed by low heat capacity refractory and Fibrous insulations of different grades
    The Thermocouple controlling the Furnace temperature, is placed in the nearest possible proximity of the midpoint of the tensile face of the Test Piece, ensuring correct Sample temperature and deriving a temperature uniformity within ± 5°C in the Test Piece
    Absence of draught of fresh air from cooling the tensile face of Samples and provision for inlet of desired atmosphere in the closed Furnace chamber, ensure more accurate & genuine HMOR values for Magnesia-Carbon, like Test Pieces.
    The Loading Bar & Bottom Bearing Block is made of Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide. The supporting Bearing Edges are made of Sintered Alumina materials.
    With the same set of Loading Bar and Bearing Edges, Test Pieces between 20 x 20 mm to 35 x 35 mm cross-section, can be tested.
    The Test Pieces are pushed manually by screw feed with a pair of Alumina / Mullite Rods mounted on the Front Door and are positioned accurately with the help of a pair of Alumina / Mullite Rods from the rear.
    Loading on the Test Piece is actuated by a multi-lever mechanism, ensuring vertical loading at the centre of the Test Piece.
    Loading rate (Kg/sec), which needs to be varied according to the measured dimensions of individual Test Piece, is steplessly selected to 2 decimal places and applied by micro-processor controlled Motor driven Load within an accuracy of ± 2%.
    Air-cooled Load Cell mounted in-line with the Loading Bar, displays the true/direct Load with 'Peak-Hold' facility at Rupture, and its Calibration can be verified at site with calibrated Dynamometer placed below the Loading Bar Tip inside the cold furnace.
    Thyristorised Circuitry with adjustable Current limit and Soft-Start features for maximum protection to Heating Elements and for simple control of heat-up rate.
    Micro-processor based Digital PID Temperature Controller / Programmer with Pt/Rh Thermocouple in pure Alumina Sheath.
    Digital Over-Temperature Protector with ensure overall safety.
    PC Interface for On –line Date Acquisition / Storage Graph / Table also available (Optional)
